Debbie's Notes:
Mark Huether and I took on Hornet's Nest park in a rather odd format for the World Mixed doubles title. Thankfully this is my home course and Mark is very familiar with it too. However there are many tight fairways and obstacles that anything could happen.
We played two rounds with a mixture of alternating shot and best shot and on one round or the other each of us had to drive. There were many holes that I was nervous about driving on, because if you hit a tree early you are hurting! I shot it straight down the gauntlet hole, hole 15, 16, up 17... I was pleased with all my drives except for 3 & 4. The wind got ahold of both of them and took them into the trees. Mark's drives were real good as well. He parked 17, which isn't easy to do.
We were tied going into the back nine with the Brackels, knowing that Mark was going to be driving, I had complete confidence that we would be victorious. And we were. I won my first World Disc Golf Title!
