Debbie's Notes:

This is my second Charlotte Am Champ tournament. Last year I competed in the intermediate woman's field and placed 4th. This year I was with the big girls - advanced. We had a good sized field, 9 advanced ladies.

Round 1 was held on a short course and I didn't do so well, I actually finished last amongst the 9 women. Off to a great start, huh?!?

Round 2 was played on one of the toughest courses in Charlotte, the Angry Beaver, and I shot well, moving up to 5th place. After round 3 at Kilborne (using the Clash layout) I was in 4th place. Not too bad considering where I started at. Unfortunately the 4th round at Sugaw Creek was just okay and I dropped back to 6th. The two women on my card that last round were so determined to surge ahead, and they did. I couldn't hold them off. Three too many bogies.

The ladies in my division are awesome disc golfers and great people! We had a great time playing with one another. Congrats to Stephanie Miller for winning the Adv. woman's division, she's awesome!!

I know there are a lot of things I need to work on going forward. I was very excited be playing and doing well in the advanced field. I was the lowest ranked woman in the field and yet, I didn't finish last. My putting needs major work (especially at a distance) and I will continue to field train on my sidearm and backhand drives. I gotta just keep on throwing and learning from my mistakes if I am going to achieve my goal as a pro disc golfer!
