Debbie's Notes:

R.L. Smith is one of the newest and more challenging courses in Charlotte. There is a lot of elevation change and lots of obstacles and out of bounds areas. So we have 3 & ½ rounds of this course, plus 3 temp holes. And it was HOT! Paige Woodard and I made up the advanced women’s division and Genevieve & Christine made up the rec women’s division. We played together all 4 rounds. I really enjoyed playing with all of them. I was so excited to see Paige step up to advanced. She is improving so much and I love seeing players push hard and up. For the most part I played my lines right. Hole numbers 4 & 5 were a thorn in my side just about every round. I went out of bounds somewhere on those two holes each time I played them almost. The rest of the course I played really well on. I got some birdies here and there. Overall I was pretty pleased with my play this tournament. It’s funny when I was about to get up for my trophy, Kevin pointed out to everyone that I would have won the entire men’s rec division. I’m sure that made all of the happy. LOL There was a competition called ‘Beat the Man’ where we had to get superheros past a goalie of a soccer goal. Well, I got 2 past Marc and ended up winning a 1 hour message prize! That was pretty cool. The tournament was well run and I am glad I was a part of it. I’ll be back next year!
