This was a small unsanctioned "tournament" that I stumbled
upon while browsing dgcoursereview.com
in April 2010. I had finally convinced Debbie to go out to women's
league and we had just begun discussions about possibly trying
some tournaments. This event was being held near Charlotte so
I contacted the TD. Soon after registering, the course & tournament
were removed from dgcoursereview.com,
but we had already made arrangements to be at the event which
was still being held.
We had a great experience at this event (which in the eyes of
many would be little more than a couple of guys inviting everyone
to come play a makeshift course) and it helped prepare us a little
bit for the tournaments that we would be participating in soon.
Eight considerate people who enjoyed playing disc golf, having
a get-together without worrying about strict PDGA rule adherence
or payouts or anything beyond just having fun together throwing
discs at baskets... made for a great event!
