We decided to stay the night at a hotel instead of drive down
really early in the morning like we had in the past. The good
thing about this was that it allowed the kids to practice a bit
on Friday evening. The bad news was it was hard to sleep on the
hotel bed and the kids got me up too early anyway.
Debbie wasn't able to join us this year or last year because
of tournaments, but we had a good time anyway. Both kids played
pretty well, but clearly aren't back in best form yet. They both
hung on to win their divisions and enjoyed playing with the children
on their cards.
In the competitions, both kids did better in putting than they
usually do, but then did worse in accuracy than they usually do.
Single-throw accuracy contests are tough anyway.
We all enjoyed our day and we're planning to eat out afterwards,
but as we had just finished pizza a bit ago, we decided to drive
back home, get a big slushie from QT, and eat somewhere near home
instead (I was surprised they chose Taco Bell out of anywhere
they wanted to go though).
My division of the tournament was great and I made new friends.
I was able to come in first, but it was close. I shot a 71 today
and also won the putting competition.
We had pizza for lunch and I won 2 discs as raffle prizes.
I was playing with my buddies: Ggrayson, Jehu, and Samuel. They
all did very good. I thought I might have lost but I won by 2
strokes.
My disc was up in a tree on number 10, and then my approach hit
the top of the basket and rolled down the hill into the thorns!
Even though it was a long, tough putt, I made it from there.
