I have the privilege to stay with my Aunt Laura and Uncle Ben
when I have tournaments in the Raleigh area. And the private course
in Moncure was only about 20 minutes south from their home. My
aunt Laura spoiled me rotten while I was there. She even recorded
the UNC game for me to watch later that Saturday night after I
got done with the first day's rounds. I am so thankful and blessed
by their hospitality. I did hate that my uncle got so sick. On
to the disc golf. This was my first time playing the Swingin'
DB's course. It is a private course with a lot of swining baskets.
It was only Donna Stanley and myself in the advanced woman's division,
so we played together all three rounds. We did have a rec player
named Patricia that was also on our card. I enjoyed playing with
them. It was real relaxed and I think everyone learned something
new. There were 5 women in the pro field (4 of which were my level.)
It turned out that had I played pro women, I would have come in
2nd place. I thought that was pretty cool. The course was really
neat and Saturday the weather was gorgeous! Sunday, not so much.
Actually, this tournament was supposed to be 4 rounds, but due
to the yucky weather we only played one round on Sunday. Which
was fine by me. I got back home in time to go to church that night.
I will definitely be back to Swingin' DB's if not for the tournament,
then for the visit with my uncle and aunt!
