This was the 2nd year I conducted a clinic for the golfers in the Newport News area. Last year was truly a beginner class, so this year we worked on more advanced skills.

After working on putting and approaching I opened it up to the audience. I let them dictate what shots were going to be learning. Some of the shots asked for were the thumber shot and driving sidearm. I had one gentlemen ask me to watch him drive, because we as stalling out at only around 300 feet for his backhand drive. So I did and immediately noticed he had absolutely no pull back. He was only throwing with his upper body and arms. I literally pulled the disc back while it was in his hand an told him he needed to pull all the way back to me. Once he did that and got the rest of his body into his throw, he nearly threw the disc into the street (about 400 feet away.) He was so thankful and I was so glad I could help him.
