Charlotte Iron Man - FAQ Page

Frequently Asked Questions
(where frequently means "at least once")

1) Is this event sanctioned?

This is NOT a sanctioned event. The format is one that is very flexible and fun, yet physically demanding.

2) How does it work?

     - Choose 2 or 3 other disc golfers to play with.
     - Play every hole of Angry Beaver, Nevin Nightmare, and Renny Gold.
     - Don't collapse until after you turn in your scorecard at the Player's Party.

3) Do you run the course?

I don't run at all if I can help it. You are free to do what you want as long as you play out each hole with your group.

4) What makes this "tough course edition"?

There have been many disc golf "Iron Man" events in the state over the years.. G'town Ironman (3 courses, doubles), Charlotte Ironman (5 original area courses, singles), the Great-8 (8 courses, doubles) , etc.

Quite simply, this is a singles event on 3 of the toughest courses in the Charlotte area.

5) What mold/disc will the INNColor Event Discs be?

The most likely candidates will be Roc or Aviar. We can announce it here once they have been made.

6) Can I use (scorekeeping app, DGCR score card, back of a disc, etc) to keep my scores?

Yes. You will still need to transfer & submit your scores on an official score card before 9pm though, and you are still responsible for knowing anything which may be printed on the official score card.

7) Can I submit my scores early so I can...
... take advantage of the Divine Barrel drink discounts before the Scotts arrive?
... take a shower/change before the party?
... go play Skillborne for the "most holes played"? etc

Yes, submit your scores early by sending them to sfdg.cim@gmail.com. It should help us with getting scores and secret awards ready faster.

Remember that submitting your scores early will not count as your official score card, but we plan to have someone at Divine Barrel as early as 6pm who can check/verify what has been submitted, and provide a wristband that will allow you to take advantage of the player discount.

8) What are the tie-breakers?

There will not be tie-breakers for this event. The scores are a reflection of how many throws were taken to play the 54 event holes.

If division winners have the same score, multiple trophy discs will be awarded. The only other place where scores matter would be the order of the names on the back of the shirts. Players with the same score would be listed according to who registered first.
