This was my first year at camp and I was so very excited that
they had a disc golf course. I went to the director and asked
him if I could have a tournament and he allowed it. I started
to promote it and we had a two-day tournament Thursday and Friday
of camp.
I couldn’t believe the turn out, we had competitors in
every division! The girls even played. It was very exciting. It
was my first time as tournament director and I think I did okay.
It’s a lot to keep up with even on the small scale we had.
I also held a ring of fire event for all the competitors after
the Friday round. They seemed to like that. I donated all the
prizes for the winners.
It was a lot of fun and a learning event for me. I can’t
wait until next year when I get to do it again. I actually have
two other directors wanting me to come to their weeks to do the
same thing. Pretty cool!
I came in first place. I beat 2 boys. We had a great time. We
met new friends there. I was in cabin #1.
I threw with my Eagle and a Ringer. We got ice cream, a ribbon,
and a disc.
